What is the holding service?
The holding service is a regular telephone appointment with our specialist trained sexual violence advocate. It is available Monday to Friday office hours, with some evening appointments available. The advocate will contact you to schedule the appointment at a time that is convenient for you.
The holding service is not cousnelling but is a way to receive emotional and practical support while you wait for the counselling you need.
They can help you to make sense of what you have been through, discuss your options and help you to feel like you’re getting your life under control again. They can support you to get the practical help that you need now, such as advice on housing, benefits, and help you get in contact with other useful organisations.
We can provide a safe neutral environment for you to voice your fears, worries and emotions.
Who can access the holding service?
Our holding service is available for anyone over the age of 18 who is on the waiting list for counselling from RASASC NW.
